Grants to the Excavation, Survey, Museum Research, Fieldwork and Projects

As per the mission and vision of the Suna & İnan Kıraç Research Centre on Mediterranean Civilizations (AKMED) of Koç University “targeting to be a leading research centre on the Mediterranean world focusing on the history, archaeology, art history, ancient languages, architectural history, cultural heritage and related disciplines. AKMED’s mission is to pioneer and support national and international academic studies in the abovementioned disciplines”, grants are awarded for master’s and doctoral students, who have successfully passed their qualification exams.

The amount of grant is determined each year by the Board of Directors and is paid only for once. 

The grant for Master’s research is limited to 1000 Euros, while a limit of 2000 Euros applies for Doctoral research.Call for application is announced in March; deadline for application is 15 May and the decisions are announced in June.

The application folders prepared as three copies need to include the following:

1. Title and curriculum vitae of the applier; list of publications, if exists, clear contact address, e-mail address and phone number;

2. Scope of the research project, its methods, aim, a summary of previous publications on the subject, work calendar and program;

3. Quality of the need, list of proposed expenses and budget.

4. Minimum two letters of recommendation (in sealed and signed envelope) must be directly sent to AKMED by post or e-mail by their authors.
